MOD Infrastructure

Case Study

The Task

Two DIO base boiler houses, fed by underground diesel fuel tanks were to be excavated, decommissioned, and replaced.

The project involved fuel uplifts, fuel polishing and transfers, as well as civil works, site commissioning and electrical connection installations; the team was to excavate and dispose of additional two underground foam-filled tanks of an adjacent MT Section building, as well.

Scope of works

The ECS team, keeping compliant with JSP375 Volume 3 Chapter 5 Petrolium regulations, LCM removed all contaminated fuel from the two underground fuel tanks of the main boiler house

The in-situ tanks had been decommissioned (foam filled) more than 20 years ago; the ECS team had to excavate them and dispose of them. We carried out a DSEAR assessment prior to starting the works; The team then extracted and disposed of the existing fuel infrastructure according to a well-planned schedule of works.

Client Comments and Feedback

VERY PLEASED

” The lads have been on site a number of times and have a surprisingly wide range of talents. I’m always pleased with the quality of their work, the way that they go that extra yard to get things done and the positive attitude they always see to turn up with”

Phil, Plant Manager, MESE

Liryan have done a really amazing job

“After struggling to find a contractor to undertake a garden soakaway for over two years, Liam and the team were professional, responsive and the end-product was finished off with limited visible impact. The team that did the work ensured all mess was removed, answered all our questions patiently about how it was going to work, and we are now more much hopeful than before that we have tackled the flooding challenge we had around our property
