Liryan Spillbund

How does it work?

The HDPE Spillbund is formed in Either a square or rectangular shape around the area to be protected, it is then fixed to the existing floor by means of EDPM rubber and 12mm spax fixings making a water tight seal, the bends and couplers have overlay joints which also form a watertight seal, this in essence creates a bunded area

What parts and components are required?

The bund is built up of three main components 1.8mtr Straight lengths, internal/External bends and joint covers, in addition EDPM rubber gaskets, SPAX fixings and construction sealer.

How is it used?

The spillbund will be used in a retrofit scenario around tanks, structures pipework and vessels to contain uncontrolled spills and leaks

What problem does it solve, and how does it solve it?

Its solves the issue of contaminated waste being discharged into the environment by containing the spill or leak.

What are the most important features for the invention?

The invention can be easily retrofitted, its light weight so easy to transport and install, other bunds made from steel fabrication can be heavy and expensive, the HDPE is around 20% cheaper and can be formed in pretty much any size (dependant on the vessels your trying to contain)

What are the most important technical parts ?

Its made from HDPE and is fusion welded, its flexible so can form a watertight seal on imperfect surfaces when used with an EDPM rubber gasket, Industry is crying out for something like this and I don’t believe there is anything else out there on the market.

Liryan have done a really amazing job

“After struggling to find a contractor to undertake a garden soakaway for over two years, Liam and the team were professional, responsive and the end-product was finished off with limited visible impact. The team that did the work ensured all mess was removed, answered all our questions patiently about how it was going to work, and we are now more much hopeful than before that we have tackled the flooding challenge we had around our property
